Walks around Kenmore, Loch Tay, Aberfeldy and Weem |

Kenmore and the River Tay - A gentle walk from Kenmore along the North Terrace track on the bank if the River Tay towards Taymouth Castle. Grade - short/ Distance - 2.75 miles/Duration 1-2 hours Kenmore to Acharn Falls - A slightly longer walk which incorporates a subterranean passage and five thousand years of human history. Grade - medium/ Distance - 5.75 miles/ Duration 2-4 hours Waterfall Walk, Kenmore - A short walk following a way-marked route in the hills above Kenmore, where are fine mountain views. Grade - short/ Distance 1.5 miles/ Duration 45 mins - 1 hour Drummond Hill Forest Walk, Kenmore - A medium length walk fro the forestry car park on the outskirts of Kenmore, along Drummond Hill to a viewpoint at Black Rock. Grade - medium/ Distance 4.5 miles/ Duration 2-4 hours Around Aberfeldy - This is a gentle walk above the town on paths and tracks and crosses the town's newest and oldest bridges. Grade - short/ Distance - 2.5 miles/ Duration 1-2 hours The Birks, Aberfeldy - Follow in the footsteps of national bard Robert Burns who was inspired to write a poem here in 1787. The birks (birches) still cloak the steep slopes of the Moness Gorge along with oak, ash and elm. A narrow path follows a circular route through this ancient woodland. Dramatic Waterfalls. Grade - short/ Distance 2 miles/ Duration 1-2 hours St. David's Well, Weem - A short walk from the Forest Enterprise car park at the village of Weem. The footpath runs through ancient woodland. Grade - short/ Distance 1.25 miles/ Duration 30 mins - 2 hours Camserney and Loch Farleyer - A steep start to the walk on a good track leads to heather moorland, which has wonderful views over the Strath of Appin. Grade - medium/ Distance 5 miles/ Duration 2-2.5 hours Ben Lawers - A serious hill climb on steep and rocky paths to the summit of the highest mountain in Perthshire (and tenth highest in Scotland). Beinn Ghlas also over 3,000ft, is climbed on the outward leg. There are spectacular views over Loch Tay and into the Highlands. Length: 6.5 miles/10.4 km (there and back); Height Climbed: 3080ft/940m Schiehallion - A climb up the 'fairy mountain': a cone-shaped Munro between Lochs Tummel and Rannoch. Schiehallion is one of Scotland's best known landmarks and best loved hills. The going is initially boggy then stony, with large boulders at the top.
